Director of Photography

It’s a delightful challenge to articulate the vision of a film. Finding the right texture for the image, the subtle balance of light, and the true movement and composition for the frame is thrilling for me because it creates and highlights the emotion of a scene.

I have been a member of Canadian Society of Cinematographers since 2001. Born in Canada, I received my film training in Europe and graduated with distinction from the internationally renowned National Film Academy in Lodz, Poland. I studied under the finest cinematographers, co-workers of Kieslowski, Polanski and Wajda. I began by shooting with 35 and 16mm film and have since increasingly worked with HD and other digital formats.

My on set reputation is that I am creative, I’m fast and I have extensive technical knowledge. I have collaborated on over 100 productions in both documentary and drama, many of them acclaimed films for which I was recognised (i.e. the Kodak Spectra Award, Best Cinematography at Hot Docs Film Festival, and the Gémeaux nomination).
